4 wheel drive wanted South Africa

Need a 4 wheel drive, camping equipped, vehicle for a 3 month trip through Southern African Countries. Mid Feb to Mid May 2012. I am presently evaluating 2 options.

• A buy back program on a mid 80’s Toyota Hilux double cab with a roof tent from a company call Drive Africa.
• Purchasing a Series 2 or Series 3 Land Rover in South Africa and then reselling it at the end of the trip. Working with a Graham Duncan Smith (listed in South Africa Lonely Planet Guide Book) as a possible agent to help find and equip an old Land Rover for camping.

Purpose of this post is to contact anyone who has had experience working with either of these two options. Or to find someone who might have a properly equipped South African Registered Vehicle for sale during the next 7 months. Or to find someone who might be looking to purchase such a vehicle sometime after I am finished with it. Or whatever other good advice or idea might result from this post.
