12v battery charger for D80

Anyone know of a battery charger for a Nikon D80 battery that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter socket? The only alternative is the multi function battery pack which takes AAs but costs £80

I have a similar dilemma so I've just bought a 12v/240v inverter from Aldi's for £15 and I'm going to try that out. I need to charge my Eee PC up and my camera batts. Hopefully the alternator on the bike will handle it.

Or you could try this. Battery+Charger Car for NIKON EN-EL3e D200 D80 D70s EL3 on eBay, also, For Nikon, Digital Camera Batteries, Photography (end time 07-Feb-08 11:04:15 GMT)

I took a different route. I went to 7dayshop.com and bought 5 batterys for around £5 for the D80. That should last you a good couple of weeks without too many flashs.

Although I have not used it personally, I have bookmarked this thing as a potential future buy:

ANSMANN Digicharger Plus

Can load AA and most digicam batteries with one charger from 12-volt car/motorcycle socket or from wall socket. Somewhere from their site was also possible to download PDF manual that list all compatible camera batteries you can load with it.

Hi Andy,

whilst free camping around Norway I used a cheap & cheerful inverter, which did the job nicely. Mine was purchased from Maplin's and rechared the batteries during the days riding. If you go this way please ensure there's reasonable ventilation around the unit.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
