Best man in MENDOZA
Hello riders !!
This is a little post to share the story that happened to us and recommend a great mechanics in Mendoza for future travelers !
On New Years January 1st 2020, we were in the small town of Barriloche, when our bike suddenly stoped dead in the street. Luckily we were in the city, and decided to walk around the town and try and find a bike mechanic. We finally found honda mechanic that looked at the bike and told us it would likely need a BMW reader. How were we going to find this in Barriloche?! Well as serendipity happens, we turned the corner and found a young couple at a gas station on the same bike as ours. With minimal Spanish we tell them our bike is broken and ask if they know of anyone in town who knows BMWs. Surprise! It turns out he is an actual BMW bike mechanic from Mendoza who happens to be on vacation.
Facundo, went at his hotel, returned with the reader and confidently fixed the bike in under fifteen minutes. The issue being with the fuel pump controller that commonly happens to the GS. He clearly had a way with BMW motors so we decided to make our way over the next few weeks to Mendoza and have him look over the bike. His garage is impressive, brand new, and full of BMW bikes, even a beautiful vintage. Under a few hours him and his partner did a general maintenance check and was able to fix many underlining issues we were having including some pesky engine lights that wouldn’t go away. They were quick and precise, with obvious experience. We cant recommend this bike shop enough, Facundo is amazing with bikes, especially BMW, and charge very fair price !

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
