Good motorbike repair shop in Lusaka?

Hi - I'm currently in Lusaka with a BMW G650GS which has a badly dinted wheel rim (potholes!) - can anyone recommend a good repair shop?

Met a couple of guys at Eureka Camp in Lusaka (on KTMs) in June who had good things to say about the KTM dealership there which seemed to be close by the camp -south of the city. Reckoned to be overlander friendly, even if you're on a Beemer...

The owners (Julie and Ray) have been riding KTMs for over 20 years, and have trained a local mechanic to fix them. I think they're moving out of their garage soon to the MX track South of Lusaka on the road to Livingstone.

Contact them at (260)-96-757-757. Give them a ring and maybe you'll decide to explore the waterfalls and wilderness of Zambia rather than just flying through it like most riders do on their way to somewhere else. There are miles of underexplored areas of this country...come have a look.

Thanks reggie3cl - I've been in touch - they are on their way back from a bush trip at the moment - and they are going to have a look at my beemer tomorrow.

Just to add to this thread:

Had a great experience with a local mechanic in Lusaka. His name is Gary Hindson. He is the mechanic for a local group of sportbike riders and he has a very well-appointed shop with a great staff about 15 kms south of town.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
