aus sydney to qld 8 Day Camp

long version

short version

Rode from sydney to goldcoast for a wedding on my vfr taking some good roads along the way then up to noosa and glass house mountain and back again. My rear tyre leaked and wore uneven causing some vibrations so i took a shorter rout back.

Here is a photo collage. It goes for a little bit sorry and has no sound sorry. Ive put up the ride report as text on the screen. I took lots of photos. Lots of on bike video which some worked and some didnt when it comes to camera angle.

I took lots of video along the way. Some looked good. The under pannier camera wasnt so good tho as you didnt get to see a lot of the scenery. Took lots of photos normally i photobucket them but its full so thought this photo collage would be interesting. Maybe I should put sound on it. Or speed it up a bit as it goes for 30 minutes. Was a good ride anyway with lots of camping. Going to a mates wedding on the cheap by camping along the way. Cost less than flights if you dont include a set of tyres

playlist hours of video from it https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...FTmEl9-9-llCbn

Day 1, Sydney, Over Putty, Through Dungog, Up Thunderbolts way, Camp near Glouster at Bretti Reserve.

Day Two, Down and then up Oxley Highway, Through Armidale Couch Surf with friends in Glen Innes. somehow lost my glasses 300 well spent their, put them in a black case in my velcro jacket pocket and must of fallen out.

Day three, Upto Tenterfield, Over Bruxner Highway, up through Lions Road, to Murwillumbah, upto Goldcoast Two Nights at Friends Wedding at Jupiters Casino.

Day four, Up through Brisbane, to See Family at Sunshine Coast, visit Glass House Mountains for two days.
Did a bit of maintanance to the bike here, rear tyre was loosing pressure, so filled it full of motul instant tyre repair, came out a small hole near a old tyre plug i had put in a while before hand.

Day Five, return through Goldcoast, Down Springbrook, into Murwillimbah, Over Burringbah Bends, to mooball, Down Old Highway to Grafton, Over Nymboida, Camp at Rest stop area near Nymboida.
Very isolated spot, river, creek, just an old concrete bbq structure and a bin, big grassed area, no signs saying not to camp their. always wanted to camp their.

Day Six, finish Nymboida Track and Waterfall way, down Highway to Port Macquarie, back up Oxley Highway, Camp at Aspley Falls.
Met a guy called Tony, who is 70 years old camping off a near new CB1100, i invited him over for marshmellows over my fire, which he aggreed to, interesting chap, is a retired international pilot, just enjoys riding his bike and camping, happens to be going to the same 1 horse town i just came from in the sunshine coast, pomona or something.

Day Seven, Down Thunderbolts way, back through dungog, over Putty, and back to Sydney, 4000km, a set of tyres later.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
