3 months off work...where to go???

A few of us have got the big Hawaii coming up in a few years (five-Oh)

We can all get 3 months off work for a trip somewhere.

Where would you go???

We`ve done USA coast to coast and India. Some fancy the Pan American highway, some fancy heading east to Mongolia etc??

Prague & Amsterdam for 3 months appeals but not far enough away. I`ve ridden to both anyway

Your thoughts??

Depends on your budget and your interests, and where you are!!

Ewan and Charlie went RTW, where as my better half and I left the UK and went to Argentina and Chile.

We didn't rush, but nor did we see everything. We clocked up 7500 miles in that time, travelling two-up.

So if that part of our little planet took your fancy I think you have a very memorable trip: we certainly did.

For us and our pace, 4.5 months wold have been ideal, but such is life. Still, with 3 months you could pack a lot in and not have to race around: beautiful part of the world and simply wonderful people we met along the way.

Either way, good for you!!

After thought.

Apart from the initial costs of getting there, if you are Europe based, as you might be, 3 months riding around Europe will cost a lot more than 3 months riding around the Stans, or South America...

Don't clock up huge distances within the radius, but go slower, stop, and savour what you find. Get off the bike. Meet people.

This is a great idea, its how I plan my rides. You end up finding things in unusual places; like a Buddhist Monastery in the lowlands of Scotland, as was as amazing people. How about using a random GPS point generator, typing in a radius of, lets say 4000 klicks, covering the screen and press enter and see where you end up!

Oh and my bets are your American; the Hawaii Five O joke gave you away lol!

Oh for gods sake have you ever been to Canada? Your neighbor to the north, so familiar but so different. Canada from west to east is completely different from each other. come on up and say hello!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
