When entering with your own vehicle you have to book the trip with chinesse agency. You are getting a guide who is following you or the group with his own car. The agency takes care of all the customs procedures at the entry and exit border. The also deal with all paperwork in China so you can have chineese registration for your bike or car, drivers linecse and number plate.
I am currently arranging such trip together with 20 motorcyclists entering China on 3rd and on 10th September from Kyrgystan and exiting to Pakistan. That is 5 days trip. The group for Sept 3rd is full. We still can take people for Sept 10th. Price per person is about 850-950 usd. It depends on the size of a group. Best price is for a grop of 10-12 people. The price covers almost everything besides your personal expenses like food.

Usually price include:
1.Tour guide fee
2.Custom clearance fee
3.Permit fee
4.Chinese license and number plate
5.Vehicle examination fee
6.Insurance fee for vehicle
7.Guiding vehicle fee: (all roads)
8.Transportation between kashgar and Immigration office.
9.Hotel fee for guide in Tashkorgan
10.Meals fee for guide and driver
11.Hotel for you (3star, standard room with two bed, 2person one room)
12. Parking fee at the immigrations office

Price exclude:
1. Meal fee for clients
2. Fuel, parking and toll gate fee for your own vehicle
3.Tourist spot entrance ticket fee
4.Tip for guide and Other own expenses

You have to be under 70 years old to drive car in China or under 60 years old to drive a motorcycle.
