Ferries to Iceland

Does anyone know the best way to get your bike to Iceland these days. I think the ferry from Scotland has stopped running now. is the only way now to go through to norway and ferry from there. also has anyone recently done a trip to Iceland,if so any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Hello,

I'm planning also to take a ferry in July from Bergen to Iceland and return to Scotland.

Do you have an idea of:

- approximate time of the trips
- approximate prices for a motorbike and 2 people

Thanks a lot!

Luis, check the Smiryl line schedule as there is no Scotland leg anymore.

From memory it's Denmark-Faroes-Iceland-faroes-Norway-Faroes-Denmark.

Sailing Schedule

According to that 2010-info, it runs between Denmark, Faroe Islands and Iceland (no stopover in Norway).

I hope in summer time they reopen the route Bergen - Iceland... and Iceland - Scotland :confused1:

I've sent a mail to Smyril, I'll post here if I get an answer...

Thanks anyway

As far as Im aware the company had to fight a big legal battle to be allowed to cancel the scotland stops so it is very doubtful they will start them up again.

Thanks, Pecha, now it's clear, I didn't look properly at the schedule.

I've done my plan, ferry from Danmark to Iceland and back. Then another ferry from Danmark to Norway. Scotland will be left for a next trip.

I will be in Iceland first and after head to the European Advriders Meeting in Norway

Cheers,
