Interesting places

Hey there,
We will be traveling on motor bikes from the UK into Europe sometime in July via the ferry to France and from there through into Germany and up into Sweden and Norway, Finland down into Russia and heading east to the Urals and possibly beyond then heading south and then west back into the Ukraine and then meandering back to the UK through the more interesting countries.
While planning? this trip I need to know if anyone has any recommendations for interesting places to visit?
We would prefer to look at things such as places of industrial interest like Chernobyl and places where interesting things have happened like Auschwitz.
The route is flexible and if anyone has any suggestions that would be good.

Poland
The Solidarity museum in Gdansk. There is a good campsite in Sopot (called ‘Kamienny Potok’) five minutes walk from the station with trains every fifteen minutes to Gdansk.

Wilczy Szaniec (Hitlers Wolf’s Lair) in the north east corner. There is a hotel in a converted bunker at the Lair itself as well as a basic campsite.
Lithuania
The statue park (Gruto Parkas) is well worth a visit and there is a campsite in nearby Druskininkai.
The Hill of Crosses near Siauliai.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
