Kazakhstan visa

I'm looking at travelling into Kazakhstan twice this summer as I travel across the stans,
looking on the government web it says I need to have a multi entry visa.
has any one done this without the visa.

I know I can travel without a visa upto 14 days but only enter the one time.

Hi Lowrider,
we entered Kazakhstan this year two times, getting the 15 day Visa at the border. Between both visits were 3 weeks. we had no prpblems to get the stamps in the passport.

Did you just roll up to the border ??

Any specific paperwork involved ?

How about third party insurance ?

Cheers, Ted

Entered Kazakhstan in august 2014 so my experiences might be a bit dated, anyhow:

Crossed over from Saratov in Russia to Uralsk in Kazakhstan along road E38/236 in Russia, and road A29 in Kazakhstan. The Ozinki - Semiglavyy border crossing I think its called.
No visas required for UK and US citizens - my fellow riders (I needed one of course as I am norwegian) and no other papers as I can remember.
Rough guys on the russian side and a bit time consuming even to get out of the country! Relatively ok on the Kazs side.

Insurance readily available at the border. At a very rickety minimalistic shed - just as you can imagine....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
