Namibia/caprivi/Botswana and back April '15

Howzit, great to be back on the hubb after a short absence of two years

Planning a trip from Pretoria up though Namibia, cross over to bots and back via the caprivi.. The Landy stays home this time. Will be my first trip on the gs for a while so really stoked

Will be a couple of guys on bikes. We have 10 days or so, so I assume will have long days in the saddle. The idea is to get to deep into Namibia quick and then to ease down the pase for a week, with a last hard push to get home for a day or two. The areas close to home in bots and Namibia I have done before and will do again later.

Will start Researching the threads, but the usual tips and advice would be appreciated

Cheers
Hentie

Your planned route at this stage

Hello Vleis
Are you planning on going all the way to Kasane and then south to Nata?

Would love to, we are limited to 2 weeks travel time. Either will have To change direction in a homeward (Pretoria) direction twhen we get to the Okavango area. (Moremi) or consider focussing only on Nam or Botswana.

The constant problem of time.....

Namibia

Hey there

I've been off the HUBB for a good while myself and reading these posts is really making me wonder what i've been doing .

Vleis, I rode a GS from Cape Town to Ireland in 2007 and passed through the Okavanga Delta and the Caprivi.

fantastic place with good gravel roads, easy.

I've some great friends in Windhoek and up around Osikati ( forget how to spell it)

if you need and contacts give me a PM and have a great trip

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
