reservation ferry aswan-wadi hafa
Dear friends
the famous Mr Salah, contacted by mail, said that "is not possible to make reservation", and said to come the day before the departure and to contact him once there.
It seems strange to me and certainly I will not go down to Aswan without any reservation for the ferry to wadi halfa.
Does anybody know if there are some agencies that may help me on that?
many thanks
roberto

Hi Mr:Roberto
The only way to cross the borders to sudan is wadi halfa, So you just try to find any other agency by asking around & it's not gonna take a time to found it coz there's many, Otherwise you've to wait the famous Salah.
Thanks & Have A Nice Trip
Cheers

this is Africa
You may want to just drive down there, sit back and relax, wait for the ferry, drink stellas on the river banks before you hit the 'dry' zone of the trip, talk with locals and appreciate the continental drift, this is just the beginning, consider it as a welcome treat..!

Yep....thats exactly what you do & even spend a day or 2 cruisen the Nile on a felluca, as for Mr Saleh he is a fairly cool dude, & I don't think that ferry ever shows a full house sign. Just watch the number plate con, if you get there to close to your departure date. Wadi Halfa stay at the Kilopatra.
Cheers

Number Plates
The Con ?
When you arrive in Egypt they are supposed to give you 2 number plates (but they don't, they only give you 1) so when you get to Aswan & go to hand them in they ask for 2. So you either pay big time or as Mr Saleh says go to the Police and report it lost and get them to issue you with a report, but of course this all takes time and more money to hurry it along, remember it's likely your ferry will be pointing it's rusty nose south in the next day or so & they know it ! + you would like to be on the smelly drifter yourself ! I have heard that some enterprising Egyptian has set up shop in Aswan making false plates for the unsuspecting bikers, so when they do front at licensing with the 2 plates they the government bandits are usually quite miffed about it but obviously can't do Jack Shit about it !
I loved Egypt & all the games (altho probably lost most) its what travelling is all about.
Cheers

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
