Suggestions S. Italy and Greece?

Starting preliminary planning for a ride commencing UK next May crossing France and then ferry hopping Marseille to Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, southern mainland Italy, Greece and then on to Turkey.

I have researched Turkey fairly thoroughly but haven't found much information about our route to get there. Does anyone have any suggestions on must-see places starting Corsica through Greece? Also any recommendations/experiences regarding ferries and accommodation would be welcome.

I toured Corsica / Sardinia / Sicily / southern Italy earlier this year - check out my travelog "legging it around Italy" in the "Ride Tales" section. If you need any other information, just ask.
Garry.

Thanks Garry. Very interesting report and very useful. I have copied lots of it into a Word document for future reference.

Update a couple of hours later: Printed off the Word document and studied it alongside maps of Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and mainland Italy. Fantastic! Thanks. Lots of info that will be very useful for our trip.

glad it is of some use to you!
you would be better sailing Olbia to Civitavecchia (near Rome) when leaving Sardinia - I went to Livorno as I wanted to travel the coast down to Rome (don't like missing bits out!)
Moby ferries are your friends here.
Garry.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
