Where to go, when: Motorcycle travel by weather?!
I posted the following on the HU FB group the other day. Grant suggested I post it here too. NB ** this is the improved version as per peoples' contributions... **
This is the text I wrote on Facebook:
***************
Motorcycle travel by weather?! Not too hot, not too cold, not too wet? Your input/feedback is requested, assuming you actually travel by bike
Something different. Actually a work avoidance strategy. What I'm not doing is fitting skirting boards upstairs at CasaPutaPadreDeLosGuererros Me digging out this old spreadsheet from 2013 and tweaking it today was prompted by a friend who recently went to Morocco in the middle of summer and seemed surprised as to how hot it was. (Or maybe he wasn't surprised at all and likes sticking a hair dryer set on max into his crash helmet?)
I have friends who rode motorcycles to Nordkapp and across Lake Baikal on the ice in winter, to name just a couple of examples... I respect their achievements a lot.
I made/edited this spreadsheet for me and the more I share and get feedback, the less house renovations I have to do.
I don't really like cold. I loath incredibly hot weather and I hate riding in the rain.
***************
Addendum: Will be on the road for a while from this weekend, so any edits to this "final" FB version will take a long time
Happy to disseminate a printer friendly .pdf version if you email me via my website. Please don't send me a HUBB PM. (I also don't come here v often anymore, so you might be waiting a while).

Grant: Whatever you did to make the image expandable, made it invisible on my cell phone (Android 11/ Chrome)! It was still visible (and now expandable too) on my Windows 7 pc with Chrome.
So here it is again AND I can see it on my phone too

Weird - all I did was add a link to it to open the image in a new window. Anyway seems to work fine now.

On my elderly Mac (OS 10.13.6) I originally saw the full chart, although sized down. Now I see no chart, just a small, faint, un-labeled square to the lower left below Chris' text. Clicking that square brings up the full colored chart.
No blame, no explanations, no expectations--merely observation.

I'm most definitely spending too much time on this thread!
Now 24 or so hours after posting it, having it edited to make it "user friendly", then reposting it, the chart is now gone from post 2 on my phone! (although it still appears and is clickable on my pc...)
Maybe it's because I have a pop up blocker and advert hider running on my phone? But I have the same running on my pc Unfortunately I can't be bothered, nor do I have the time to get to the bottom of this pointless non-condundrum.
Anyway, I've attached a low res jpg to this post Let's see how that works
And I'm still happy to email a very legible and printable (A4 size) pdf. No, I won't attach said pdf here.
Bright and out.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
