WSBK 2012 Moscow Raceway

Since the WSBK 2012 calendar (provisional) was announced I've been toying with riding (from UK) to watch it.
Firstly I can't find any information about the exact location - most websites put it 77km West of Moscow and I'm guessing that it is near Volokolamsk - near the M9 highway. Does anyone here have better information?
Secondly routes:
My first thoughts were: Dover - Calais, Belgium, Germany, Poland then Belarus.
After another look I thought it may be interseting to go Harwich - Esbjerg,
Denmark, Sweden, Stockholm - Riga, Latvia.
Any thoughts (perils). I can't find any bookings for the ferries yet so price may be a concern as could timetables.
Could always do one route out then the other back.
Thirdly: Is there anything I need to know about riding in Russia, Latvia and/or Belarus. I've been as far as Poland a couple of years ago and guess Scandinavia in summer is not a problem.

Thanks in advance for any info.
Ed

As far as getting here, I regularly travel by road between London and Moscow.
By moto it takes me a brisk 2.5 days on a 650cc enduro/dual sport in summer.
By car it takes me 3 days. Summer and Winter.
Long days on the move (about 12 hours) with 2 night stops - usually Poland (near the Germany border) and the Lith/Lat border area.

I use the most direct direct 'non visa' route via Channel Tunnel, Antwerp, Essen, Hannover, Frankfurt(Oder), Warsaw, Augustow, Dauvgpils, Rezekne. Including the road past the raceway (not that I remember any signs for it!). About 1,800miles, door to door.
This avoids Belarus where UK citizens require a further Visa, other than a RUS Visa. Belarus is also a fairly boring area to cross whereas NE Poland, Lithuania and Latvia have good scenery and pleasant areas to travel through.

At the RUS border it is acceptable (and officially encouraged) for motos to go to the front of queues.

I try not to ride in the dark because of poor RUS roads in places - and once I hit an elk/moose, fortunately (for me) when I was driving not riding!!

If you don't find the general info you want on the many other HUBB threads on Russia, ask specific questions here.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
