BMW service in Thailand
Need a good BMW mecchanic in Thailand. I know there are plenty of Motorrad dealerships BUT if someone has experience with any of these and their mechanics I would appreciate some comments and recommendations.
Just looking for a service and possible valve adjustment on my F800GS.
Cheers.

I am curious myself about that as I have no personal experience either.
I did speak with a sales lady from the BMW Motorrad dealership in Korat ( https://www.facebook.com/BMWCherdcha...f=ts&ref=br_tf) several months ago. She told me that the mechanics at BMW Cherdai Motorrad have been trained by BMW Motorrad Germany. What I don't know is where the training was conducted nor do I know what the training consisted of. Prior to my decision to bring my BMW into a Thai dealership for service I want to know more about the training of the mechanics and I will also want to know how many BMW motorcycles, by type, they have repaired and serviced since the training.

There is a german bike wizard in Chiang Mai called Joe. He has been working for 20-30 years in Thailand and he is probably one of the best mechanic in town.
But he is not very active on social media and such but here is his contact info from The GTRider forum: Chiang Mai Motorcycle Shops | S.E Asia Motorcycle Touring Forums | GT-Rider.com

i used Barcelona Motor in BKK for a very comprehensive service, including rear absorver swap, and everything went smooth.
Hope that helps.

I have had to use there shops and mechanics in both Phuket Bangkok and Chiang Mai all very good and reasonably priced, including a full rear end rebuild for a GSA very happy with each outlet

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
