I discovered a SUPERB hotel in Skopje, Macedonia.

The hotel is 'Villa Vodno', it is located at Perisa Savelik 8, Skopje, Macedonia. GPS co-ordinates in decimal notation are N41 59.131 E21 24.959 (or, if you prefer degrees-minutes-seconds lat/long expression as used by Google Earth, 41°59'9.05"N 21°24'56.28"E).

It is a family-run luxury boutique hotel situated in a large mansion house. The owner has a motorcycle himself, and everyone speaks excellent English. Food is excellent, both breakfast and anything you would like for dinner in the dining area (either indoors or outdoors).

Price is €70 a night single, which in my opinion is outstanding value, absolutely a steal - in any Western European country, similar accommodation would be at least €250 a night or more. Lower prices are available in the off-season... I paid €58 a night during the first week of September. Rooms are huge , almost qualifying as suites, and very nicely appointed.

As for security of your motorcycle, not only does the hotel have a gated, enclosed parking area for motorcycles or cars, but the next-door neighbor whose property directly abuts 2 sides of the hotel is the President of Macedonia. You will have no security concerns here, that is for sure. The neighborhood is peaceful and very quiet.

All in all, a delightful find, the kind of place you will want to stay a couple of days at to rest and recharge.
