A nice place to stay and meet other bikers in Budapest, Hungary is called Bikercamp (url=www.bikercamp.hu). It really was one of the best places I stayed on a 3-month, 30 country ride through Europe.
There's lots of green grass and shade for tent sites, 3 rooms available and a biker's pub.
You can park your bike right next to your tent or room and a tall metal gate always kept closed assures it will be there when you return from your sight seeing ventures.
There's

and other drinks in fridge on the honor system and breakfast and dinner are available on request.
Next door is a very fun Hungarian restaurant with nightly traditional shows featuring dancing and music. (Ida and I went there a couple nights for the many laughs and good food)
A couple kilometers down the road is the EuroMall for picking up needed items. (I found this great bluetooth GPS to replace my failing unit.)
Suzane is the proprieter. She worked hard to help me with a tire change at a very good price and directed me to the Euromall and other places.
Her husband, who was the president of the Budapest BMW club, passed away in 2004 when his rear tire blew on the motorway.
Suzane was on the back and suffered many injuries.
She has recovered and runs this beautiful oasis in the middle of Budapest with the help of a friend.
(It was also here at Biker Camp that I met Jeorri from Belgium who later helped me get back to Germany when my clutch went out in Brussels.)
Budapest is a great city to visit; many historic buildings and museums.
Hungary is an interesting country; inexpensive and friendly.
If you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, stop by and spend a couple days at BikerCamp. You will really enjoy it.
