Bangkok: Bluefin Guesthouse;76 Soi Sriyan 3, Nakornchaisri Road, Dusi. N 13 47 149 E 100 30 803. Tel.: +66 81 627 9111. Where Lamphu House is industry, Bluefin is an old fashioned guesthouse with longterm guests who came for some reason and stayed. No aircon, communal showers with cold water and a kitchen to prepare the meal you missed for such a long time. Located near downtown at some distance from the tourist zoo but well connected by bus and rivertransport. All this for just 220 baht! Your motorbike is safe on the compound, protected against the elements by a tented roof.

Chiang Khan: Chiang Khan Guesthouse, N 17 53 838 E 101 39 566. Don't mixed it up with Thai Chiang Khan guesthouse a couple of doors down the road. CKG is damned basic but also damned cheap and my motorbike had a first class parking: in the living area of the family. The owner is a nice and funny guy: "no airco, hahaha, no wifi, hahaha, no attached bathroom hahaha, no breakfast, hahaha" I paid just150 THB for all the fun.
Nong Khai: Mut Mee Guesthouse, N 17 52 996 E 102 44 516. May be the best guesthouse in town. Very comfortable, good service, nice people and ample parking. It's the type of place you want to stay a day more.
Chumphon: Euro Boutique Hotel. I first went to Salsa Hostel but they don't have a safe parking place. The receptionist: "Go to Euro Boutique Hotel. It is good, with a parking place, it is a bit cheaper than Salsa and breakfast is included too." I asked "Why don't you apply for a job there?" He replied "Sorry, but I own this place. No parking is my only drawback." Don't be scared by that "boutique", it is good. 590 baht. Coordinates: N 10 30 035 E 099 10 972.
Hat Yai: Chudchada hotel. If you are on your way to Malaysia or from there to Bangkok you might want to spend the night in Hat Yai's Chudchada hotel. It is an ordinary middle class hotel with everything you might expect. Plus a parking lot. 550 baht. Coordinates: N 06 59 668 E 100 28 633.
