Hello Waterfox,
thank you for your reply.
I've been to those people in BsAs a few weeks ago, they did not even have an oilfilter and a valvecover gasket for the old airheads. Sure they will order the driveshaft for me, but how long would this take?
I need someone, who will fly to Argentina and bring the part along with him or somebody that has the part nearby, even a used one.
Regards,
Ekki

Check this link: AAT Andes Adventure Tours
One of the guys is José Meyer, who has a BMW workshop in Santiago de Chile. Send him my regards (Hans von Fintel, Sauerlach, Germany). He might be able to help you, even fly the driveshaft to somewhere near you. That is, if he's got one.
Good luck!
Hans

Do you have contacts in Germany?
You might check with a dealer in Germany. If you import it from Germany with a letter from the German Auto Club promising to take the old shaft out of the country, you might save enough in import duties to pay for faster shipping.
Argentine tariffs on parts are high.
This is assuming you are a German citizen.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
