Dakar 2009 - Anyone going to watch?
Is anyone planning on going to watch the Dakar?
Does anyone have and information regarding where and when other than the rather vague route posted on the official website?
I'll be arriving in Santiago at the end of November, hope to get to the Horizons meeting, then take in (hopefully) a few days of the Dakar before heading south.
Any info would be great.
Cheers
Adam

Following the Dakar 2009 in Argentina/Chile
Hi
We are also hoping to follow the Dakar rally, but as you, only have the information from the official web site. Hopefully more will become available as it gets closer and if we hear of anything we will let you know. We will be at the HU meeting in Viedma so we will see you there.

Sign up, it'll take a few minutes, I'm not sure what other information there is as the guy who made this page is Chilean.

Dakar info
Hi Ken & Carol (and of course other Adam!)
Unfortunately I won't make the Horizons meeting in Viedma. I packed my bike into a crate here in Singapore on Friday and it will leave on Thursday. Unfortunately, it's not due to dock in Valparaiso until Dec 8th.
Anyway, I followed the link other Adam provided but could not access the website. I have emailed them and will pass on any reply.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
