KTM dealer Mendosa,Ar.

Hola Amigos,

We will be in Mendosa in a couple of days and need tires and a few parts
for our 950 Adventure. Any information on the location of a KTM dealer and
or tire dealers would be helpful.

thanks Max

Hi Max,

Not sure on KTM delaers in Argentina (so this post may not be so useful to you!) but I do know that there are a few in Chile. Santiago for sure has a dealer, the importer in is Chillan (about 400k's south of Santiago) and I've just ordered 2 air filters form the dealer here in Puerto Montt (they will come overnight from Chillan). I also noticed he had a pair of OEM Scorpions in stock though the rear was 156,000 (about $300!) I paid $100 for a Metzler MT20 (or 21, I can't remember now) in Puerto Montt (same deal, was shipped from the importer in Chillan) and my mate has just paid about $200 for a tyre in Coyhaique (shipped in from Santiago).

So if you doin't have any luck in Mendoza, my advice would be head to Santiago or Chillan. When we were in BA I saw a 140/80/18 Scorpion A/T on a shop shelf so for sure they should be available in Argentina.

Like I say, I'm in Puerto Montt, heading south for Futulefu to meet back up with my mate Jase then up to El Bolson and Bariloche. Let me know if you need any more help.

You must be catching me up!

I'm in Santiago for a couple of days, going to collect a pair of badly needed new tyres for mine tomorrow morning from Carlos Ramirez, who is one of only two Continental importers for South America! His email is carlos@mototurismo.cl, and I think he'd have info re. KTM dealers also. Serviced the GS myself in Calama a couple of days ago, so barring any problems I'm going to be dealer-free from now on.

Did you come down via. Bolivia (Uyuni/San Pedro) or Arica?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
