Moto refuge in Venezuela
This place - Hotel Campo Bello - is posted on iOverlander but deserves a shout here. Just outside of San Felipe in Yaracuy, its a hotel who's owners open the place up to bikers for free. They are really amazing, friendly people, they have space to camp, wifi, electricity etc, and they'll go out of their way to show you around town, help you plan routes, anything else you need. They also apparently have tools if you need to do a bit of maintenance. An amazing place all round.

Venezuela info?
Hi Aidan, I’m considering transiting through Venezuela from Brazil as the last leg of a moto trip that originated in Colombia. The travel advisory’s are not very favourable, but they are often exaggerated and they don’t compare with insider information from a fellow traveller.
As it looks like you have been or still are in Venezuela could you give me your opinion on how safe it is? I usually stay away from the big cities if I can.
I was thinking: route 10 Pacaraima to Guayana, route 19 / 12 Guayana to Puerto Carreno.
Any thoughts and tips appreciated!
Cheers
BunburyAndrew
Please ignore the attached photo of my father in law and his bicycle! I am a bit inexperienced at uploading attachments to messages. I have an RE Himalayan moto

HOW IN HELL do you consider Venezuela a good place to travel. as soon as you get there you are a target. No bank machines, no law, no embassies you better have a Camera to record the corruptive authorities this way they won't intimate you .
go to Venezuela with a ton of cash and the people know it
Bulls Eye you will be in the radar I cant think of a more Fu, place in the western Hemisphere and I live in Colombia and I know how shit works down here perhaps Haiti is worse

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
