Need adress to receive international package in Cartagena
I need a reliable adress to receive international package in Cartagena, CO. Does anybody have a suggestion? Also, is DHL or FedEX a better carrier for CO?
Finally, any biker friendly budget accommodation options in Cartagena would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for your generous offer. I was hoping to make arrangements to get the package sent before leaving to Cartageña. To that end could you send me your poastal address via eMail of private message? If not I´ll look you up when I arrive. I am trying to find out if I can receive the package at the DHL or FedEx office.
thanks,
Neal

You can definately receive a FedEx package at either FedEx shipping office in Cartagena, the one nearer the Fort or the one in Boca Grande that I used even keeps Saturday hours. I had to have a shock and other consumables shipped down from Houston, Tx back in March of this year. Cost something like $400 US for 18kg but got their quickly but you will have to cover the import duty costs as they where unable to bill the shipper. Much cheaper to use a frieght forwarder out of Maimi that repackages stufff as samples and saves a small fourtune doing so by avoid much or all of the import duty costs and the shipping itself is much cheaper. Unknown about how long a time frame but claims of being fairly quick at less than half the cost of FedEx.
I spent way too much time in Cartagena this year, I can't beleive I didn't find this pizza joint one of the members was talking about??

Did you have to pay import taxes? How much? I want to get a nice camera in here and wonder how much extra I would have to pay.

I only received some documents, so customs was of no concern. I was heard that fex ex packages are all thoroughly inspected by customs and tax always added.
I don´t know what you mean by a "nice camera," but if that means a mid range slr and a couple of lenses, you may want to fly to MIA to get it and then bring it back if you are not a resident. At least last year tickets to MIA were cheap.
If it´s just a $2-400 point & shoot, I´d just bite the bullet and buy it there.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
