its around $40 or so for a room, food is up to you, there are a few restaurants close by and a supermarket (very small, from memory) about 5 miles away, try and find another rider to split your costs
its a very cool place photos really do not do it justice at all
its about 2 kms from here

I got a free dry spot to sleep in the old church as long as I bought my food from the resturant.
The guy running the equator point runs the old hacienda and is a real nice fellow.
If you are looking for a fabulous New Year's Day meal I would go to this little place right down or up(I can't remember just watch for the signs) the Pan Am from the hacienda. I forget the name of the place but it's sign has the colors of a Holstein cow and is on the West side of the highway not too far from the equator you will find this place.
Wonderful food!

It's a shame I won't be around there to meet you guys, I am from Cayambe. I hope you'll have a nice time if you meet in Guachala hacienda, it's a nice place.
For a nice ride, I would go to the hot springs in Oyacachi (following the road towards and through Cangahua), about one and a half hours ride from the Hacienda. Easy ride to that indian town.

Hola,
I'm a french biker, with a little 250 Tornado.
I'm heading to Equador, actually in Cajamarca in Peru.
I find it's a nice idea, the new year on equator.
Perhaps I'll try to join you.
I'll give more details when I arrive near Cayambe.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
