No Peruvian immigration at the Khasani-Yunguyo crossing
On the Bolivian side you can stamp out & clear customs……but on the Peruvian side there is nothing - apparently the immigration/customs offices were destroyed by protesters
On the advice of Bolivian immigration, I drove to Puno. Unfortunately it was a Saturday & the main immigration office (near the tourist police station) was closed….as was customs.
I was fortunate - the tourist police guided me to the iPeru tourist information office who told me that I could stamp in at a small immigration facility down at the port. In addition, she kindly arranged for the guy at customs to help out & meet me at the office to provide a TIP
So be advised, especially if crossing at the weekend, this could be a lengthy process
