I'm in Cusco now. Flying back to the UK in 2 weeks. But I'll be returning next year aswel.

Download the application iOverlander, then have a look around Cusco. Should be able to build a good idea of where to go what to do, routes that you want to see etc.

There are a couple of hire places in Cusco, they're on ioverlander and google no doubt has the info. They have a range of bikes, wouldn't recommend a KLR though for around here, fat and underpowered. They all have crf250l though which is what I would recommend going for if you've got the choice when you contact them. PS if it's all the time you can get obviously it's all you can get... But it's really not very long, by the time you get over jet lag, get the bikes, get sorted. Then get going, get back and drop the bikes.... Not much riding time considering the 20hour flights each way.

Just my 2cents but it's too far for 10-11 days. Tell the boss you want 3 weeks or you quit :-)

Completely agree! And I do this in Peru for a living!

Go see Alex in Cuzco at Peru Moto Tours - Motorcycle Rentals, Tours, and ATV Tours, but you can't do it all. I would settle for Machu Picchu first (not with the motos, too many days not using them), then head to closest jungle area and Sacred Valley.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
