Just come back from it. Rainyseason is about over, the road is passable all the way.
the road passing by Pastoruri is not paved ( but ok to drive !) and I met no other traffic as everyone takes the paved road (which continues to Antamina). Fuel can be bought in La Union but quality is soso...
You will hit the asphalt though for some kilometres but do not forget to leave it on time as it continues to Antamina! No signes for La Union there! Follow the sign for ´Huallanca´ ( bushcamping possible around that lovely town ,also hostals)
I camped at a little village further down called Tingo (which is not on my map..)This is about 100 km before Huanuco, just after crossing the bridge over the Marañon,turn right and at the end of the village there is a soccerfield along the river. Ask permission to pitch your tent but is no problem(very friendly people)
Further down direction Huanuco there has been some guerrila activity, so many police checks now. Better no bushcamping in that region maybe.
buen viaje,
Marcel
