protective gear available in Bolivia?
Hi,
Anyone know anything about the availability of protective gear for touring in Bolivia? We aren't looking for the top of line, just jackets and pants that offer respectable protection from road rash in case of a fall. Thanks!

I bought some in Sucre in a store, located where the Avenida German Mendoza crosses Calle Destacamento 317, or one block down the German Mendoza from that junction. Street names are according to maps.me

La Paz has a BMW dealership, but I don't recall seeing riding gear. Give them a call or shoot them a email. There are a few more motorcycle shops a short ride east of the BMW shop.
What part of Bolivia are you in? I have heard the Santa Cruz has lots of high end retailers. I'll leave the reason to your imagination.

Hi
BMW La Paz have limited clothing available.... plus the price would be typical Bm. If you go there ask for Sebastian.....he is in service but speaks good English if your Spanish is a littke rusty. We were stuck in La Paz for 5 weeks as part of the front fork issue and i yried during that time to try and source a neck brace.....all to no avail. In my opinion you may struggle to find what your looking for as the market place and shops in LaPaz anyway are dominated by the chinees market.....and no normal bolivian wears protective gear anyway so i dont think there is a huge market for it.....plus the looks my wife and i get as we travel around all kitted up is priceless.
Just our opinion for La Paz anyway
