Renting a motorbike in Bolivia or northern Argentina
Hello fellow travellers,
I plan to join my girlfriend in northern Argentina or Bolivia on her motorbike roadtrip for 3-4 weeks in June (she is currently travelling in Patagonia).
Renting a motorbike in Bolivia appears impossible. The agencies I have contacted told me the same thing : there is no motorbikes for rent anymore in Bolivia.
Do you have other opinion ?
If no, there are 2 alternatives :
1/ renting a 4WD in Bolivia (like Suzuki Jimny, that's possible and at a correct price),
2/ renting a motorbike in Argentina (preferrably in the northern area).
Do you have some advices about good and reliable bike rental agencies in Argentina, in Cordoba, Mendoza, Salta (or eventually Buenos Aires, but it's not the preferred option) ?
By the way, for those who know both places, would you advise a trip in Bolivia or northern Argentina ? I've been told that both are superbe, Bolivia seems tougher.
The idea is to travel solo with our 2 vehicles, alterning wild camp and hotels.
Thanks for your help !

I can now answer my own question : I rented a Yamaha 250 XTZ at Norte Rental in Slata, in north-western Argentina. I clearly recommend them, if a 250 is enough for you. They have this 250 XTZ Lander ABS, and 2 250 Tenere (no ABS).

Here is my comment on Google :

I here a motorbike (Yamaha XTZ 250) during 4 weeks for a long trip of 4700km in the Noroeste (including 1500km offroad), in June and July 2022.
The experience was very positive :
- Good advices and clear proposal during « pre-trip » exchanges via Whatsapp.
- Good advices about itineraries when we came to pick-up the bike.
- The bike was in good condition, with new tires and fresh oil, well maintened, I haven’t got a single mechanical issue during the whole trip.
- The rental conditions were clear and straightforward, at a correct price.
- And the staff is really nice !
(… not to mention the fact that the Noroeste Argentino is wonderful, especially the northern part of the Ruta 40 My best road trip ever !)
