History:
The car was purchased in Florida, United States, and we have been traveling with it for the past nine months from the USA to Argentina.
Very Reliable and capable off-road SUV. A very popular model in South and Central America therefore no problem with spare parts or service. Nissan dealers and certified garages are in every country in South and Central America. The car has been regularly serviced and well maintained.
Guys, driving the Americas is the only way to really experience the continent. To have the ability to go anyplace you want at any time in comfort is a real bonus and adds immensely the whole experience. You will be able to reach places most backpackers can’t, in a time that will leave you refreshed enough to actually enjoy the experience.
We had absolutely NO problems driving through North, Central or South America with this car in terms of mechanical problems, driving mentality or road conditions. As you would expect in some places the roads aren’t so good, but the Infiniti QX4 is a very capable 4x4 built to handle these conditions. Even the locals trust the Pathfinder and they are quite common.
Our travel experience was fantastic and this is mostly down to our car and the freedom it gave us. We previously backpacked Africa and Asia but traveling with a car enables one to remain fresh and prevent “travel weariness” for longer. We’d be more than happy to offer tips and advice, as well as recommendations, from our travel experiences in the Americas.
