San Antonio-Chile

Hi,
we shipped our bikes from Vancouver to San Antonio, Chile. They should arrive at 5th.October at the port there.
Did somebody else the same and if yes, how was the dealing with custom, etc.
Anything we have to think about or prepare (paperwork)?

Was is it difficult, do we need a local fixer ?

Is there any good place to stay in San Antonio or should we stay in Santiago or Valparaiso (arriving in Santiago at 29.September)?

thanks for the advise

Hi,

You should be able to clear customs by yourself without problem.
If you are going to stay in San Antonio are I recommend to stay in Santo Domingo (about 19 kms from San Antonio).
Here is a place were you can stay in Santo Domingo:
Chile-Hotels Hotels in Santo Domingo, Chile with rates, reservations and descriptions and hotel information

Good luck

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
