Shipping Buenos Aires to Europe?

Is anybody shipping motorcycles from Buenos Aires to Europe the next weeks to share costs? We have two Honda CRF250L storing at a private house in Buenos Aires. They are "ready to ride", means there is still fuel in the tanks, but maybe the batteries are dead. We neither would have a possibility to pack the bikes in a crate, nor could we transport them to a port, since we had to go back to Germany already. The bikes have dimensions of length 220cm x width 85cm x height 120cm and a weight of ~160kg each.

Is it possible to organise a transport to Europe, although we are not in in the country? Our bikes have already ~90000km. So depending on the price, it might be not worth anymore to transport them back to Europe and we have to look for a legal possibility to get rid of them in Argentina.

I can't offer you company names, but I can offer you people you can!

Dakar Motos in BA can help organise shipping.

When it was time to crate the bike up and ship it back, we had their help. Back then it was either advice, or help actually doing the paperwork. I opted for the latter.

And for that reason there's every chance they know of people hoping to do the same.

Good luck.

We (wife and I, two motorcycles) got our TIP,s suspended in Buenos Aires back in April, by going to the Aduana office. Was fairly straightforward. If you are looking for a place to store your motorcycle in Buenos Aires, I can recommend http://www.xfiltrate.com

I’ve been keeping in contact with Dakar Motos, and as of a about a month ago, they said that things were still very restricted as far as shipments to the USA, fwiw.

Yeah shipping prices are way over the top in the moment. We'll extend our TIPs and if everything goes wrong, we have to leave the bikes in Argentina.

Tobias

As I explained you on our last email (don’t know if you read it), about your TVIPs expiring during the lockdown, you don’t need to worry or do any extension, all TVIPs are automatically suspended at least till borders open again, plus a period of time, as nobody will be able to send the vehicles so fast or on the same way, be able to return here to resume trips. Just recently we sent a bike to London, already with the TVIP expired a month or so ago.

The suspension that M… is talking about just 2 posts above, its call “interdicción” needs to be made in person at a Customs office, and same way for remove it. Will be almost impossible if you are already abroad. And if possible, will be complicate to later-on, if you decide to ship it out without you returning to Argentina.

Regarding the only few fights departing from here, airlines are full of perishable good (that usually these pay way a lot higher prices that normal cargo), they have raised prices but fortunately for Europe, not so badly, just in around of 25%. To other continents they are asking way over 5 or 6 times the price of the ones before the Covid.

Saludos!

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
