Hi there, anyone has recent shipping quotes for a container from Argentina to South africa? I believe there are no ro-ro options.
Thanks!

No RoRo that way as far as I know.
Are you going to ship a car in the container?
I paid some years ago exactly US$ 1999,00 with Maersk for my landcruiser in a 20 foot container. It was from Capetown to Montevideo but Buenos Aires would have been the same. The container itself was only around 750, the rest were all port etc charges on both sides.

Yes, i will send a land cruiser as well. Any idea if the price would have been the same in the inverse way? Is Buenos Aires the harbor with most container traffic?
Thanks a lot!

Somehow cargorates seem not to alter too much over the years, so I guess it will still be somewhere around these 2000.
Buenos Aires is the biggest port on the eastern side of SA, not counting Brazil as that is too complicated=bureaucratic to ship anything to or from.
Montevideo has less movement but has still quite a big port and is a lot easier to move around as the whole place is a lot smaller than the metropole Buenos Aires.
Just a question, you dó have a Carnet as in South Africa they reuiqre one?

Shipping to Sth Africa
Hi,
Not sure about prices for containering a vehicle but we shipped our bike as part of a groupage load from Cape Town to Buenos Aires last Oct. Direct crossing takes two weeks. Prices were very reasonable, especially after reading some of the horrendous quotes some people have posted on the HUBB. There is some good, up to date information here http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...-charges-46049
I would highly reccommend as a starting point, an email or phone call to Nick Van Zyl at Intersped Shipping, Cape Town (contact info in the contacts section of our website).
Good luck
