There are many tires of different types in Iquequi, Chile and Lima, Peru. You didn't say what size you need, which can be a consideration.

In Lima contact KTMPERU.com. In Iquequi go to the Zonfra. Anyone can tell you where it is when you get there.

I would buy them at the Zofra, in Iquique. Cheap but good chinese tyres. In Lima try Vladimir at KTM motors in Av. Benavides cuadra 12 o 13, in Miraflores. There is also a Pirelli dealer in Av. Aramburu (also Miraflores) Not sure about the number, the store¡s name is Direlli, near Aramburu with Av. Panama. Look for me if you ride north to Huaraz, I am the HU host here. I don't know what bike you are riding or
what tires you are looking for but my inclination would be to CALL or email the shops in Peru to SEE IF THEY HAVE YOUR TIRES IN STOCK. Check prices too. In may turn out the tire in Chile are less $. OR it may be the Lima shops need weeks after ordering them to take
actual delivery. Don't you know......they
all use the ......Just In Time method of
inventory!! ;-) (thats a joke!)

Any chance you could strap at least
one tire on your bike? Dunno?

Good luck. How about an update post on
where you ended up getting tires, how
much and from who.

Cheers,
Patrick

Hi Patrick
Decided to get a set here in Santiago and just carry them, i think it will save time in the end. Plenty of tyre shops on the street called Lira. A set of Pirelli MT70s, 90/90/21 front and 130/80/18 rear cost about $120.US.This is cheap compared to the UK. You can get cheaper brands of tyres here that are not to bad as well, but there is all so some real crap on sale. Cheers Skip

Itr probably does not matter anymore, but I needed the same size of tires and bought them in Lima (at the Miraflores place, very easy to find) for 105 US. But they dont have the same pattern (Pirelli MT60 on the back and 21 on the front) and it takes them very long to get new imports (they are made in Brasil). So what Im saying is, the choice is very limited and trying to reserve them in advance via email did not result in any kind of answer.
I also was referred to Roberto Belmonte, the owner of the shop, and he refused to see me! Which took me quite by surprise. But the mecanics are ok and the worksho is clean and confidence inspireing.
