Victory!
Hi to those who have been following my trip and given me so much moral support. Depite the broken leg, my little Honda and I have completed the circumnavigation of South America. We reached Cartagena three days back. The bike is now aboard a 43 foot yacht belonging to a French Canadian, Marcos, owner of Drake's Bar in Porto Belo, Panama. From Panama I head north fast (for a Honda 125) to San Jose, Costa Rica, from where I have a flight to NY on the 22nd for a three week break with my daughter. Then back to San Jose to ride north to Mexico and the US. My wife wants to know where to send the cake for my 75th birthday!
Happy Christmas and a great New Year to you all and great ridding,
simon gandolfi

Brrrm Brrrrm
Thanks to all of you for the kind messages. Of course the circumnavigation was only the beginning. I am back on the 16th to collect the bike and head north. February 11 should see me celebrating my 75th with Eugenio and Monica at Hacienda Tijax on the Rio Dulce. I have a date to talk with students at Texas A & M and plan (plan?) dismounting in Duchess County, NY, around 5.47 PM, 28th of March.
Happy Christmas to you all and a Prosperous New Year and a special thanks to Grant for having created this wonderful communication space for bikers. simon

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
