Workshop in Costa Rica
Anyone know of a good motorcycle workshop I could visit in Costa Rica to get some work carried out on an Africa Twin?
Cheers in advance!

My travel partner last november needed some work done on his R1100GS, and we found that the BMW/Porsche car dealer in San Jose handles BMW bikes too. The one bike mechanic the have is very knowledgeable. Sorry I can't remember his name. Reasonably priced also, I thought. Don't know how they feel about working on Hondas.

The mechanics name is Christan Gonzalas. Phone 253-5873, he speaks english. Adress of the shop is "Euroautos", de centro commercial Plaza del sol, 1 km al sur, Frente Cemetario Jardins del Recuerdo. It is in the suburb San Pedro. Not sure if he works on anything other than BMW´s, but he is friendly and may know where to go.

I just bought an Africa twin in San Isidro de General. The dealer that I bought it from is great. He is the only Honda dealer in San Isidro, and I would highly recommend him. Although I'm now in the States we have been living in Costa Rica for some years outside of San Isidro. His name is Jose Gamoa and his number is 771-3525. He can definitely help you. Also we have our auto mechanic who I would highly recommend who has a brother that works on all types of bikes, His name is Jose Bermudez and his number is 771-0001. If you are going to be coming through towards the middle or end of July I will be back down there and I would be glad to take you to them personally. Also if you need a place to stay let me know. San Isidro de General is south of San Jose right off of the Pan American highway.

can concur with andy's comment on the official bmw dealer in san jose. i was introduced by the bmw bike club of costa rica and was (sadly) on a bmw. they (the club and the dealer) were very very helpful. my mate was on a yamaha and they were cool about that too.
