World Health Organisation gives serious warning for SARS!!!
Anybody going to Asia and more specific China, Hong Kong, Singapore, vietnam... and quite some more region over there should check on this topic and reconsider their travel plans.
SARS stands for Sever Acute Resperatory Syndrom. It has a very high mortality rate with one out of 20 patients dying.
The epedemy broke out about 2 months ago, probably somewhere in China. About 3 weeks ago scientist were able to isolate the responsable virus. The scientist who made this discovery died last weekend of SARS.
The virus is for sure transmitted by direct contact. But more and more people are thinking it has gone airborne (airco systems...).
Main symptoms are high fever and flue like feeling. Resperatory effeciency is dramaticly affected if not treated.
If you are in the affected area's and start showing these symptoms get to a decent hospital as quick as possible. If you just came home from a trip to the affected areas mention this to the doctors.
It is very unusual for the WHO to actually recommend travellers not to go somewhere because of a heath treath.
The WHO recognized SARS as a potential danger for the world health.
