Crossing the western route during the rainy season
Hi everyone!
I am planning to start my motorbike trip from Jo'burg SA in late March or early April and ride it north along the western side of Africa to Morocco. After I carefully calculated my route and time, it seems very likely that I would be riding through the central (DRC, Cameroon) and western African (Benin, Togo, Sierra Leone) countries during the rainy season.
Could anybody give me any suggestions about riding through this route during the rainy season? Is it just not drivable at all in some parts? Is it really that bad to ride during the rainy season?
I am still assessing the risks of taking this route because I know some of the road conditions in some countries are not ideal and riding during the rainy season could really be a pain in the ass. I may change my entire trip to the East of Africa if the rainy season could really cause me a lot of troubles.
