Concerning spanners - may I suggest box spanners cut in half? There's no need to take sizes you don't need - a 9mm with an 8mm, an 11mm with the 10mm, etc. For the price, they're practically disposable. New holes can be drilled to take the bars, or even a screw driver - though I would suggest using the bars. Just check there's enough headroom and turning space on ALL fixings to get to the next 'flat' if space is tight. They'll be 'custom-made' for your bike and less than half the weight of ring spanners. It's just a thought.

Might be easier - a photo of what you left with .. and what you came home with ...

Have to do that myself .. note to self - photo of gear going out - unpacked on floor .. and another one when returned - unpacked and unwashed on floor .. to resembel 1st photo. Could be a good calander photo sequence? err and anotehset of phots showing teh packed bike .. both outwards and inwards bound.

Teflon - A note on the box spanners - I don't find them as strong as the ring spanners.

I found that, if the threads are not sticking in regular use and the spanner is a good fit, there's very little strain put on the tool itself. I also find them extremely fast to use. It's what we feel comfy with I suppose.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
