Long term parkings West Africa

Hi all!!
I did Cairo to Cape Town in a half a year journey. I´m back home, and I would like to continue with this dream, but this time the African West coast.
Unfortunately I do not have as much time to make that trip , and I 'm planning to do it in stages.
Has anyone information about long-term parking ( and safe) in the countries of the West African coast ?
Thank you very much for your info!!!

Hello Marsabit !

Happy to Help you: we are doing the exact route with few stops on the way down, its quite easy to find places when you are there, this is where we parked our car on our way down:
1) Senegal - Saly --> guarded garage at a friend house (around 10€ per month)
2) Benin - Contonu --> Hotel Helvetia "Au Jardin Helvetia" Hotel - Motel - Camping - Restaurant, Houndodji-Plage, Cotonou, Benin (1€ per day)
3) Cameroun -Douala --> guarded parking in front of the Catholic Catherdral (around 0.5€ per day)

for the following parkings ... i can update you from Sept onward!

Great interesting thread.

I am starting in a week from Spain on an ATwin and think I may not make it down to Cape Town this time so I will need other parking possibilities, maybe Angola or Congo...

Will try to fill the spaces during my trip.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
