Hello,
What is the turn around time for the Mauritania visa at their Bamako embassy?

Same day (I hope)

Bamako Mauritania Embassy:

N 12° 39' 43.5", W 7 ° 57' 56.8"

In November Same Day. Bring it in the Morning, pick up in the Afternoon

15.000 Ougiya or 30 750 CFA for 30 day Single Entry. Exchange rate is a bit strange ;-)

regards
Bernd

Mauri visa turnaround time

We came up through there

Just to confirm

In min September 2010 , 30 day visa was 30,000 cfa per person

We got it overnight, all very easy

Previous post listed gps. I remember it's near the Chinese embassy.

Good place to stay if needed, nearby. A treat when your overlanding at €40 a night

HOTEL MALI

(free parking in a yard in the 2nd hotel they own. It's safe with a guard) Pretty laid back city anyway

Camping at 'le cactus', is miles away and not handy for any run around trips in the centre. The only place we found for overlanding style camping.

Thanks

Got it in an hour when the lady heard I did the frontier and back yesterday.

Standard timing is still drop passport in the morning and pick up by 2pm

I paid 41,000 CFA for a 45 day multiple entry (coming back same route)

Can confirm this: I'm waiting for 6 days now in Bamako. We went to the embassy monday and tuesday and will go again tomorrow, but the lady just says they are working on it, waiting for a reply from nouakchott and that she will call us.
@cris73uk, come to the embassy tomorrow at 9 o'clock, maybe there is power in numbers.

Got the visa after 8 days, but only after we changed our route on the application form ,in stead of via Nioro to via Senegal. They are very wary of tourists on the 'route de l'espoir'.

Has anyone gotten a visa since February? Any updates?

Do you think that if I tell a fib and say I'm going through Senegal from the start I'll get it ok?

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
