Selling a vehicle in Niger
Have any of you sold a vehicle in Niger?
I have a budapest-bamako rally entry for 2010 (although I might sell the entry, haven't decided yet). After the rally I think a spending a few days on Bamako-Ouagadougou-Niamey might be a nice way to relax, then sell the vehicle and fly home. It's not a technically difficult journey compared to some of you who are crossing the whole continent, but is there anything I need to worry about?
(After the 2009 rally our team sold our vehicle in Ouagadougou and flew home from there).
I hear that Niger border officials don't record vehicle details in passports (like burkina, unlike mauritania). Is this true? If so, then import duties are not a problem.
What are prices like, generally?
In Mali and Burkina, it seems that any local buying a vehicle is happy to pay a lot more for the words "Diesel", "airco", and "Toyota" - is this true in Niger too?
Is there anything else I should consider?
