I have shipped out of Guinea Bissau to Norway this February. Not an easy place to do business, and potentially very expensive due to corruption and/or incompetence. I would only assume that Dakar would be the easiest place in the entire regioen for shipping both in or out ( sea, air or land)... I have myself never shipped in or out of Dakar. But, as I am considering just that, I will follow this thread closely.

I rode from Portugal to Guinea-Bissau in Fev.2011 within a group of 11 bikes.
All bikes were shipped from Bissau to Lisboa, Portugal. There are direct freight container lines.
I tend to agree that Dakar as better harbour infrastructure and more freight lines offering but corruption might be a problem.
Cannot provide further details because the shipping was taken care of by the company organizing the trip - MotoXplorers

My info is a bit old so not sure if it's still relevant but... I shipped a vehicle from Le Harve to Dakar on a ro-ro. I don't know the name of the company as I just dropped it off at an agent at Le Harve port and he took care of the rest.
