Visa d'Entente confusion

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...886#post151842

This thread is interesting but I'm wondering if anyone out there has got the visa in Africa over the last ?3 months.

I've called the CI, Burkina, Togo & Benin Embassies in Paris & they all refuse to issue one, and as of a few moments ago both Togo & Benin said that they don't exist anymore.

I'm fine with picking up my CI visa in Marseille but can I get a Visa d'Entente once I get to Africa? Has anyone recently got one in Accra or in the 'immigration shed' on the edge of Ouagadougou???

Thanks

Kira

Asking for it at several borders (Togo, Benin, B.Faso, Mali) noone was able to provide it (august 07).
Many panels inside offices, fixed at the walls ws talking about "visa d'entente" but, in fact, no way!
Officiers told us was a very old procedure... (?)
Some friends wasn't able to have it also from Nigeria.

Good luck!

Going south you can get it in Ougadougou (We did in Feb 2007)
It meens going to Ouga first but then you have 2 months to visit Togo benin Niger Ivory coast and return to Burkina.

Thanks ... I'm hoping to get it in Ouagadougou but fly into Abidjan first ... so I'll have to get a Burkina visa in Abidjan ... I'm hoping to see if I can't get it in Abidjan or Accra before I head north.

Anyone have more recent information please? I'm beginning to think this visa scheme has been shelved!

Just got confirmation from another poster that the Togo Embassy in Bamako is saying that the visa DOESN'T exist anymore; however they are still in search of it trying at the CI Embassy next!

In Bamako the Burkina embassy also told us that it didn't exist anymore.
But we still got it.
Fellow overlanders who turned back in Abuja Nigeria also got the Entente at the Benin Embassy in Abuja.
I can speculate on how and where to get it but that won't help.
Ouga and abuja are fact though (between feb and june 2007)

Grtz
