URGENT: Petrol Leaking?
Hey guys, maybe a long shot but im in Romania near Transalpina Road and just noticed some kind of leak on my bike.
No idea what this black box does, maybe i lost a tube somewhere while riding? No idea... I tried taking it off to get inside but cant get to it, would have to remove half the engine to get in there from the back to unscrew that box.
Its sunday, mechanics are closed and im in a sonewhat remote area. Any quick fix? Can i still ride safely with this leak?
Ps. Bike is Romet Classic 400
Ps2. Its leaking petrol.

Looks like the silly charcoal box to stop a bit of fuel vapour getting out*
Many people bin them.*
Forget the box, its just St. Greta nonsense. Bigger question is why the fuel is coming out of what in sane times would be a breather. Did you brim the tank then park in the sun?
*This one fell off my CB500X
The size of a can of fizzy pop and probably as heavy. The weight removed means I use less petrol so kill fewer fishies or whatever they are trying to save. Nothing I can do about the resources wasted making a plastic bottle to hold 8oz of burnt forest. The space created is where my puncture kit now lives.
Good luck.

Agree with the above, it looks like the emissions evaporative canister. The spout you put your finger on where the fuel is leaking has a small raised bit near the end that is supposed to hold a hose on, but it's very small, and I suspect a hose has fallen off. A good look in the area may find a hose floating around loose, that ends below the bike in front of the rear wheel. Or it could have fallen completely off, depends on how well it's attached.
Regardless, unless it's pouring fuel, it's not a problem - occasional drips are fine. IF it is pouring, you have a carburetor issue - or a fuel tap issue. One or the other has failed and allowing fuel to flow.

A year later I randomly revisit my own post and figured I'd add a note in case anyone else gets scared by a similar (non-)issue...
Well, long story short, this stupid plastic box would leak petrol anytime I would fill my tank completely full. It would leak like a whole big stream, surely enough to scare me - then would stop. And the solution was quite simple... Fill just a little bit less petrol into my tank. Ie. stop about 1cm lower then what "full" seems to me. And just like that - no leak at all.
I don't really get the sense in it, but it's an easy enough workaround!
