Back in the saddle again
For those of you who were aware of my accident immediately following the Horizons Unlimited meet up in southern France, here's a little update.
Firstly, thank you Florence for helping out after the crash and a thank you also to the great gentleman who rode my bike back to the campsite. I don't know your name but we really appreciate your help.
We were lucky to have such wonderful friends, Carol and Laurent, who opened their home to us and gave us a place to hole up while I recuperated. I ended up breaking my ankle and losing a chunk out of my knee. We were just starting out an eight month trip, as some of you know, so we decided to press on. It's taken four months but I am finally walking (mostly normally) and today I got back on a bike. We rented not-so-small 125cc motorcycles and are doing a three day trip from Nha Trang to Dalat. We would have liked to motorcycle all of Vietnam but the weather hasn't cooperated and I've just recently gained enough mobility in my knee to get on a bike again.
So to all of you who aided us during those crucial hours and days after the crash, thank you. I remembered each one of you on my ride today.
