At least there's no photographic evidence of alleged banning offence! We do know who was dun by a Lada, but are unable to mention his name (that would be blasphemy (also a ning offence?). And why are we now talking Lada in the plural?!
There is evidence however of a certain self-portrait, eh Mark... Let's not mention that in public
Another ning reason: (partial) nudity...
This thread is also a great example of a thread-hijack

Yes but that is a good thing. It serves the same function as a red light district: it keeps all the smut and anti-social behaviour in one place and keeps it out of society. People can come in, spread their wild oats, and leave again back to being respectable

Good Lord, you should mark that photo above as "Not Safe For Work"!
One of my co-workers walked by and asked "What the Hell are you looking at??"

Banned Hubbers - why?

Damn straight, if I want to be racist, sexist, xenophobic or homophobic on a public forum then that's my god given right!!!

Come on Kradmelder, that's just hyperbole and you know it. Can you actually cite any examples of this "tyranny"? But you're right - there are inherent contractions in the idea of free speech, but one should consider that simply because one has a right to free speech, that does not mean one can shout 'I've got a bomb' in a busy cinema, etc. With freedom comes responsibility.
Hmm, is that too political now?

Is that English or yorkspeak? eish. It should be a bannable offence to speak in a foreign language that is not English or Afrikaans
Damn. They can't even make muffins or vetkoek and the resulting disaster they termed a 'pudding' lol. But Im guilty of liking them.

[QUOTE=chris;470461]It's not appropriate to discuss in public why any particular user of this site has been banned. TA rider was given the reasons. The fact that the original "offending" content has been deleted hopefully won't come as a surprise. Hence all remaining contributions look innocuous.
The only thing I will say is that (following the original short term ban) creating multiple accounts under different aliases did not endear him to the moderators and lengthened the ban. When the aliases are discovered, all the content is deleted and this alias banned too. This task takes about 30 seconds.
Yawn. ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Sorry mate, but I can only give 2/10 for that. Btw, do you moderate for ABR? Do you rider a BMW GSA?

Reason: Quoting is fine, changing what the person said isn't.

I do however aspire to (when I grow up) purchase a riding suit made of whale foreskin. Would that get me more marks?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
