I enjoyed both - different programs for different tastes.
The Storyville documentary wasnt really about bikes (well, apart from the first 15mins) but it was interesting nonetheless. It was interesting how he befriended people and then took on their fight when perhaps most people would just head home - and I wonder if it was part of his condition. Given the recent ISIS events, one can only imagine what would happen if he was picked up by them.
Guy Martin on the other hand is consumable television for a mass audience. Although scripted, I think he is generally just a nice likable bloke who would share a brew and a natter with most people.
You either get lowest common denominator television for as many people as possible (think mainstream) or you get focused tv which will appeal to a certain focus group.
