Colin McRae raffle
Hello folks,
I hope this is in the right place?
As some of you will know I am doing a ride with a friend later this year from Alaska to Argentina, and we have decided to do it in aid of the Colin McRae Vision charity, this is a new charity that has been set up by Colin's widow in the wake of the tragic helicopter crash that killed him along with his son Johnny and two family friends... the aim of the charity is to help in children’s health and education in different parts of the world which Colin competed.
The first help they gave was to Yorkhill children’s hospital where they donated £35,000 towards a special care ambulance, also they have donated vital x-ray equipment to a children’s hospital in Carlos Paz, Argentina. Our aim is to raise £1 per mile for this fantastic charity. One of the ways we are raising money is holding a raffle, we have Colin McRae model cars which we have had signs by Col's father Jimmy (5 times British rally champion) plus there are many other great prizes. If anyone is interested in winning some of these prizes please take a look at our website to see how Mainly Due South . If you are not interested in the raffle but would like to make a donation please follow the link to our justgiving site from the website above.
Thank you for taking time to read this, I hope that our trip can be of benefit to others that are not so lucky.
We start the trip on Sept 1st which is not too far away now, the past 7 weeks I have spent in a cast as I hit a deer on my motorbike and broke my leg, collar bone and ribs! The cast comes off on Thursday so that gives me 3 months to get fit again... I just hope that my knee has healed ok. If anyone plans on going to the Chatsworth motor show this coming weekend or the Goodwood festival of speed in July then come and say hi as we will have the bikes on display at the McRae stand.. Would be good to put some faces to names!
Thanks
Chris

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
